The Department of music needed an updated website which is easy to maintain. We've used WordPress and the Knowledge Town Framework again to build a rich and flexible site reflecting the diversity and sophistication of Cornell's music department. We used an existing plug-in to scatter music clips throughout the site. The design process was characterized by a very productive collaboration with a dedicated client. We love this site. Cornell's Department of Physics had a content management problem: their current site was disorganized; faculty pages were going out of date; and weekly events were distributed inefficiently using a paper flyer. To help out we developed a content management system (based on the WordPress blogging software) that allows them to update their web pages using a web browser. And we did a lot more, all within a tight budget. We interviewed and photographed students and professors to create a series of "spotlights" that reveal the department's interests and personality to website visitors. While interviewing, we photographed in the laboratories, gathering rich texture graphics for the page banners. Visit website →
The Eat3 Campaign is a four-week project to help people choose, prepare, and enjoy healthy family meals using locally-grown produce. Our client needed a visually engaging and fun site with registration, forums, and games. They also used our help to turn academic prose into punchier copy. They had a tight budget and deadline, but with WordPress, custom programming, and plug-ins we met their needs in style. We also used our print design expertise to create a stunning postcard + magnet for in-person promotion of the project. Visit website →
Lush graphics perfectly communicate the feel and provenance of renaissance music. A tight budget didn't stop our client from setting up e-commerce using WordPress plugins. Another plugin provided a flash player for visitors to sample her music. She told us, "I was amazed to see how my answers to your initial questions really did show up in the final design. You are excellent listeners." Visit website →
We first created this website as a visually playful yet simple brochure site. Our client came back a couple years later asking for a dedicated password-protected parent-accessible section with downloadable forms, a roster, daily diary, and picture gallery. This was easy to do in WordPress. You can start with a simple site, and if it's designed well, further capabilities can be added simply. Visit website →
Mobile Storm sells mobile phone and email marketing services to large national clients. They needed a website to distribute their case studies, white papers and testimonials. We worked with their designer to develop this lush full-featured WordPress theme. The website features two blogs, complex navigation, and advertisement management. Visit website →
We use WordPress as a starting point for presentation-oriented websites both large and small. Wordpress is free open-source software used by millions of people. Our clients find it very easy to use WordPress to log in and add content to their website. See the website we made for the Cornell University Department of Music.
We use Drupal as a starting point for large online community websites or database-intensive websites. Drupal is free open-source software powerful enough to handle thousands of community members interacting with a website. See the website we made for the New Urban Network.
We use free WordPress plugins to add features to a website such as conference registration forms, search engine optimization tools, and photo galleries. But what if you need your website to do something special? We are the developers of the Knowledge Town Framework, a WordPress plugin that can itself create custom plugins at the click of a button. See also our News and Events plugin which is available free on the WordPress website.
